Preschool Minister: Donna Smith -
In Deuteronomy 6:5-7, we are commanded to love God with our whole
being and then to teach our children to love God. At First
Baptist Church, we want to partner with you to accomplish this important
task.
Our Preschool ministry is committed to providing for
you and your preschooler the highest quality of care and teaching.
We have high standards in cleanliness and sanitation. We
continually strive to provide age-appropriate teaching that is Bible
centered.
Preschool years are the time that foundations are
being laid in the life of your child. We take this responsibility
very seriously. We plan our preschool curriculum so that any
time your child is at church, they will be learning and growing
through hands-on experiences guided by teachers who help them learn
about God, Jesus, church, family, self, others, God's natural world,
and the Bible.
See our Preschool
Schedule, or call our office at 722-8334 for current programs
and activities available for your child.
The purpose of the Preschool Ministry
at First Baptist Church is...
1. To help each child:
- associate God, Jesus, and the Bible with happy feelings.
- know that the Bible is a special book that tells about
Jesus and God.
- think of church as "my" church - a happy place
where people love me.
- develop a sense of trust
- think of home as a place of love and security
- develop positive feelings of self-worth
- begin to show love, respect, and acceptance for others.
2. To encourage the growth of each child spiritually, emotionally,
mentally, physically and socially.
3. To provide a safe, clean, and happy Christian environment for
children at church.
4. To teach preschoolers each time they come to church.
5. To provide a base of support and ministry to the entire family.
Our prayer is that you and your preschooler will have
wonderful experiences at First Baptist Church. Our ministry staff
is here to help you as we partner together with God.
In Him,
Donna Smith
Minister of Preschool
