Student Ministry Description
The Students Ministry of FBC Port Neches consists of students who are in the 7th-12th grade. We provide a comprehensive ministry structure that meets the spiritual and social needs of area students by incorporating aspects of evangelism, discipleship, missions and fellowship. Over the years the Student Ministry has adopted the name RealLife which is themed from Mark 8:35
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.
Our goal is to create an atmosphere of love and acceptance for everyone while teaching biblical truths that will transform their lives. That personal life transformation is the catalyst to encourage students to share the Good News of Jesus with others. RealLife with Jesus is about trusting in Him, growing in Him and going to serve Him.
Sunday mornings at 9:30 we have a time to hang out, eat donuts and to drink juice and coffee before breaking into age-graded classes for a time of Bible study and group discussion. We meet in the LifeHouse.*
The LifeHouse* opens at 5:30pm to hang out. At 6:00 we start a high-energy worship experience that engages students through games, music and Bible study. ENGAGE is evangelistic in nature. It is a time where students are challenged to examine their personal relationships with Christ.
Engage ends at 7:00pm. Students are welcome to stay until 7:30pm to eat snacks and fellowship.
Wednesday night’s time together emphasizes discipleship. At 6:30pm we start our time together with a group activity and then transition into a time of topical driven Bible study. These studies are designed to engage students in areas they may struggle in as teenagers. After the Bible study we gather in small groups for a time of discussion and application.
FOCUS meets in the LifeHouse.* It ends at 7:30pm.
Bible Drill and Speaker’s Tournament
These ministries meet in the Fall and early Spring. They focus on memorizing scripture through a variety of activities. Students participate in competitions throughout the Spring and, depending on their achievements, can advance to state level competition in April. This ministry meets Wednesday nights in room 229 from 5:45-6:30pm.

The LifeHouse is the area of our building in which much of our Student Ministry activities take place. It is located upstairs. The easiest way to get there is by entering the main building on the corner of Magnolia Ave. and 6th Street. Once entering the building there is a staircase on the left side of the hallway. The LifeHouse is located immediately at the top of the stairs.
The LifeHouse is equipped with ping-pong tables, Spike Ball, air hockey and foosball. It also has a kitchen where we host our fellowships and prepare weekly snacks.
