Children / Pre-teen Minister: Jeanette Harvey -

Jesus loves the little children...We have a well-rounded religious education program for your child in grades one through six. Sunday morning we have Bible Study in Sunday School Departments that correspond your child's school grade. The purpose of the Sunday School in teaching boys and girls is to guide them to know God and His plan for their lives and ultimately come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord when God speaks to them through the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the textbook and the curriculum we use helps the teachers provide child-centered Bible study that relates to your children's lives today.

Our sixth grade Preteen Department Bible Study also helps children make the transition from child to youth. We encourage the entire family to worship together in the Sunday morning (10:50 a.m.) and Sunday evening (6:00 p.m.) worship services.

During the summer we have Vacation Bible School, Mother's Day out, Summer Fun Days and Preteen Camp. Preteen camp is held at the Pineywoods Baptist Encampment for children in grades three through six. It is four days of Bible study, worship, organized sports, crafts, missionary speakers and fun. The cost is around $90 per child and we have fundraisers to help campers earn a part of their money. Full or partial scholarships are also available if you need financial assistance.

Get your child involved in our activities. Help them learn about Jesus, the Bible, church and what it means to be a Christian. We must take an active role in setting a solid foundation for our children to grow on.

Bible Buddies and Bible Drill

These programs are designed to help children learn about the Bible and how to find books and verses in the Bible. Both the Bible Buddies and Bible Drill groups meet on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. We provide a light snack before dismissing at 6:25 p.m. to go to G.A.'s (Girls in Action) and R.A.'s (Royal Ambassadors).

Bible Buddies is for first through third graders and gives them a good foundation for participating in Bible Drill which is for fourth through sixth graders. Those who are in Bible Drill can earn the privilege of participating in the church, associational and state Bible Drill competitions. We have children who compete every spring. In fact, this year our participants went all the way to the Texas State Bible Drill Competition. Way to go kids!!

G.A.'s and R.A.'s

Royal Ambassadors
Girls in Action Learning about Southern Baptist missions and missionaries is an integral part of a well-rounded religious education program. Girls in Action and Royal Ambassadors meet weekly for their study and learn how to be a missionary in their own community through mission action activities. They also have the opportunity to be involved in mission study activities with other G.A.'s and R.A.'s from other churches in the association.
Both groups meet on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm.
